Explore the tokonoma, an alcove in a traditional Japanese home. Designed to display objects of art such as hanging scrolls, pottery, and flower arrangements, the tokonoma serves as a meditative space and as focal point of the room.

Join us at 11:30 am on March 22 and 29.

Speaker: Linnéa Storm, Phoenix Art Museum docent and professor of Ikenobo, the oldest Japanese school of ikebana, the art of flower arranging.

Free with museum admission.
